Friday at Sumati Bal Van
Friday we spare some time for general
knowledge. This week we found out some interesting proverbs. A learned man is
twice born. Argentinean Proverb – We liked it and shared it with our students,
we received a warm admiration from out 9th and 10th
students.
Our Math’s teacher came up with another
wonderful proverb on books and knowledge. Books speak to the mind, friends to
the heart, heaven to the soul, all else to the ears. Chinese Proverb – This left
us agog.
The next was our English
teacher who shared a Hebrew Proverb, I learned much from my teachers, more from
my friends, and the most from my pupils. Hebrew Proverb – Really, how these
different cultures teach us through their proverbs. We always have this exercise
in school on Friday. I would love to share it with you all.
We
leave you with a quotation by Pablo Neruda – “Laughter
is the language of the soul.”
